Protein Hot Chocolate

We finally got a bit of snow here in Victoria, and the first thing I think of when it snows is hot chocolate. As a kid, it was always my favourite drink to have after a day out in the snow. So, I've come up with a grown-up version that helps you hit your protein goals too ;)

Ingredients:
  • ½ - 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (depending on how thick you want it)
  • 1-1¼ cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder 
Directions:
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pot and pour on medium heat*. (Do not boil as it may clump). 
  2. Stir consistently while the mixture heats for about 3 minutes. Test the temperature and then remove from heat and pour into a mug. 
  3. Sip and enjoy!
Notes:
  • You could also heat the milk in the microwave and add the protein powder and cocoa powder after. Then use a whisk or milk frother to mix well.
  • If you have a fancy milk frother that heats the milk, I would recommend doing that and then adding in the powders after.
