Tahini Chocolate Energy Balls

Happy Friday!

I've been getting asked a lot lately for healthy treat alternatives to satisfy that sweet tooth or chocolate craving. These tahini chocolate energy balls really do the trick as they have that rich chocolate flavour, healthy fats, and added protein as well for a well-balanced treat.

Tahini Chocolate Energy Balls
(makes 12 energy balls/6 servings)
 
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups Pitted Dates
1/3 cup Tahini (runny)
3 tbsp Chocolate Protein Powder
3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
3 tbsp Sesame Seeds
 
Directions:
  1. Add the dates, tahini, protein powder, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt to a food processor and pulse until the mixture has a coarse crumb and sticks together.
  2. Pour the sesame seeds onto a plate.
  3. Use a teaspoon or one-inch cookie scoop to scoop out the mixture and roll it into balls. Roll the balls in the sesame seeds until coated. Enjoy!
 
Notes:
  • Leftovers: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to one week. Freeze for up to one month.
  • Serving Size: One serving is two balls.
Protein Powder: Either a plant-based or whey based protein powder will work.
